The Senior Equipment Operator is to be a trained and certified operator of all Power Industrial Equipment, ensuring that all equipment operation is done with a safety minded attitude. To train all other equipment operators following the appropriate training protocol. To fulfil the daily job requirements of Hanover Center using specific Powered Industrial Equipment appropriate for the task being completed. Keep current with safety changes, training, certification and any other regulated area of such Power Industrial Equipment.
Core Accountabilities:
1. The ability to operate equipment in a safe manner while performing daily operational task.
2. Stay current with all equipment and safety training courses. Complete daily pre- inspection of equipment and report any damages and malfunctions to Area Manager.
3. Train all new and existing equipment operators in every aspect of equipment operation according to the manufacturer’s, Clarks safety, and OSHA standards.
4. Equipment Operator are responsible for ensuring the proficient and safe use of the equipment in lifting, moving, and packing of merchandise.
5. Operation of material handling equipment to OSHA and company acceptable 6S standard. Build, pick, and pack pallets for shipments.
6. Perform daily inspections on all equipment before use, to include question survey before operating is allowed.
7. Performance Expectations – as established for each department area.
8. To complete any relevant documentation accurately and to a high standard within agreed timelines associated with above tasks.
9. Other duties are completed successfully and timely based on their own individual parameters.
Key Outputs/Results:
1. Place equipment and other lifting tools over, under, or around loaded boxes, pallets, or skids, on and off containers in a safe manner.
2. Observe and comply with quality, Continuous Improvement environment, and safety procedures.
3. All new and existing equipment operators are properly trained and certified in the operation of all required Powered Industrial Equipment to all company and safety standards.
4. Ensure those products loaded to be transported are secure. Ensure that products are safely moved to designated areas.
5. Continuous Improvement – Active engagement in idea generation, root cause analysis, simple problem solving and involvement as a team member in Kaizen events driving waste reduction and sustainable continuous improvement.
6. Recognize and report all safety mechanical and electrical issues to Area Manager/Lead.
7. Performance Expectations are met or exceeded – as established for each individual area.
8. Any relevant documentation is completed accurately and to a high standard within agreed timelines associated with above tasks.
9. Other duties are completed successfully and timely based on their own individual parameters.
Essential Knowledge:
• HSD (or GED) required
• Basic knowledge of logistics operations ( product flow) preferred
• General knowledge of basic computer systems (touch control) helpful
• Knowledge of standard Powered Industrial Equipment operation required
• Knowledge of OSHA and general safety requirements for Powered Industrial Equipment preferred

Physical Requirements/Skills/Capabilities:
• Ability to pull/pick product from cartons including scanning and placing them into another carton (requires turning, bending, reaching, grasping)
• Ability to pack, wrap, band, and label product/cartons including turning to collect air pillows, labels and other supplies/materials (requires turning, bending, reaching, stooping)
• Ability to clear and stage product lifting up to 40 lbs, moving/lifting skids, lifting and moving, stacking, loading cartons with or without the use of a hand jack. (requires lifting at waist level, lifting at ground level, lifting at over the shoulder level; bending, stooping, grasping)
• Ability to see, read, and comprehend content on labels and shipping paperwork.
• Ability to see, read and comprehend content on system screens (RF units, Computers, Monitors, and Electronic Equipment)
• Ability to use stand up, sit down, floor level and/or high lift equipment.
• Ability to work at heights up to 72’
Successful Experience:
• 1 – 3 years in a logistics environment
• 1-3 years Powered Industrial Equipment Experience
• Experience with RF units, conveyance systems, and other warehouse equipment
