Clarks Americas’ new distribution strategy for Wholesale now requires an individual to direct our business development, product merchandising, and sales efforts for the newly defined Apex and Concept segments of our wholesale distribution network.

Accountabilities

  • Sales and Account Management responsibility for existing independent and strategic accounts, as well as gaining traction/conversation with new prespects in both tier one fashion and national strategic accounts.
  • Heavy focus on creating new retailer accounts at the Originals and Premium levels of distribution.
  • Collaborative partner with key cross functional partners in Product & Merchnadising for Originals and Preimum across all genders.
  • Particular attention to be paid to Clarks Originals and its elevated positioning. This role will be the primary conduit with the Originals product team in the UK, but will also understand and build our strategic account business to maximize full commercial potential.
  • Represent Clarks at national and regional trade shows during the seasonal selling seasons.
  • Support Channel and Consumer marketing efforts on an as-needed basis, examples being PR events, account-oriented events, and/or consumer-focused events.
  • Trade Shows: three to four per season (NYC, Long Beach, Las Vegas, Regional)
  • Market Travel: five to ten business days per month during peak selling periods and three to five during slower selling periods.
  • Travel to UK: once per development cycle
  • Travel to secondary and tertiary areas (as defined above): five to ten business days per season.
  • Total expected travel: roughly 80 days per year (30% of time)

 

What You'll Do:

  • Establish Clarks’ presence in the Originals & Premium tiers of distribution in the Americas via deeper penetration of existing wholesale accounts and the addition of new accounts.
  • Define, size, and quantify the strategic opportunity for Clarks in the above mentioned channels of distribution.
  • Finalize a detailed line plan for each season, to clearly include the main seasonal product line and collaborative projects.
  • Execute the trade marketing (trade shows, channel marketing, events) as per the strategy and on-budget/on-time.

 

Who You Are:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the Footwear and/or apparal & accessories with particular focus on lifestyle and/or fashion brands and channels of distribution
  • Strong presentation skills and selling capabilities. 
  • Ability to prospect new account targets in an entrepreneurial manner.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage merchandising and operations of the seasonal product line.
  • Working with premium lifestyle brands in the past is a benefit.
  • Experience working on global initiatives within a global matrix organization
  • Understanding of the product design, development, and merchandising aspects of footwear including European manufacturing.
  • Ability to represent and champion the Clarks brand, its heritage, and its current positioning.
