The Director of eCommerce and Visual Merchandising will lead the definition and development of a digital channel visual merchandising strategy that ignites a high growth channel. Through collaboration with the Marketing, Buying and Merchandising and IT teams, this role will ensure the implementation of best practices pertaining to ecommerce and provide an optimal consumer experience. The role will also be responsible for the ongoing trading activity and performance across our own websites (US and Canada), as well as our digital marketplaces.

This individual will also be heavily involved in the upcoming global digital re-platforming, representing the Americas region’s needs and driving the implementation of the new platform in the region. The role requires a multi-functional mind-set and high degree of stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive Seasonal Trading Plans for US and Canada DTC sites and marketplaces.
  • Oversee the entire VM team and processes, including all item and content set up as well as monitoring engagement/conversion KPIs
  • Responsible for briefing in asset and content requirements to drive on-site storytelling.
  • Partner with the Buying, Merchandising and Group/Regional Marketing teams to a) manage product launches and promotional calendar and b) develop and activate compelling brand and product stories at global, regional and channel specific level to achieve planned volumes.
  • Lead, mentor, motivate and develop high performing team for future growth within the channel and organization and continue to review organization structure to ensure accurate headcount to facilitate continued growth of the business.
  • Responsible to drive the development and implementation of new processes to improve internal efficiencies related to product, content and site activities.
  • Support and assist in marketplace launch and growth
  • Understand competitive landscape primarily focused on navigation and consumer experience, to make recommendations to incorporate into the business to improve usability, discovery and conversion.
  • Partner with global colleagues to create a culture of continuous knowledge sharing and results of campaigns to drive global learnings and best practices.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in online merchandising, customer behavior and eCommerce as a whole.
  • Drive global ways of working and continue to partner pan-regionally to share changes, discuss common opportunities and challenges and enable more sustainable collaboration amongst the trading teams.
  • Lead the partnership with Merch Planning to ensure alignment, maximization of opportunity and product to support goals

Who You Are:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 7-10 years of Retail/eCommerce merchandising experience
  • Proven track record in a merchandising or searching function eCommerce platform exposure
  • Strong knowledge of business admin tool and business processes/operations
  • Project coordination experience
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising within the Retail sector
  • Experience with 3rd party tools
  • Understanding of how consumers shop online and in what ways that differs from their in-store shopping experience and habits, to maximize online experience/conversion
  • Understanding of online trends, tactics and current footwear activity, as it relates to online/in-store
  • Good understanding of merchandising hierarchy
  • Team player, intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, self-starter environment
