The primary role of the Women’s Demand Manager is to develop highly accurate demand plans by customer/style/month for the Wholesale Division.  These plans directly signal the inventory team on what to buy in order to support the business without leading to excess inventory. The Women’s Demand Manager will provide detailed analysis that support this plan to customers within the organization and follow up on any issues in a timely manner.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide updates to include executive summaries, presentations and recommendations that support the direction of the Women’s demand plan.
  • Strategically align demand manager system to sync up with the latest sales and product structures.  Develop optimal scopes and sessions that maximize forecast efficiencies and accuracy. Work closely with IT on system improvements and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Sales Management and the TM’s to collect, analyze and adjust forecasts for the larger women’s customers.
  • Keeps inventory informed of all issues and sudden forecast changes to reduce overbuys or capitalize on opportunities within the buying windows. 
  • Lead consensus meeting to include pre-meeting prep, driving discussion at the meeting and follow-up after the meeting on all aspects of the Women’s demand plan.  The Women’s Demand Manager is the demand expert in the room and can easily provide backup to support the top line # and everything below.
  • Provide weekly reporting and analysis on all aspects of the demand plan to include customer, style, RSD, orders to forecast and customer penetrations by item. 
  • Monitors order deadlines, builds lock calendars, creates new forecast customers, sends reminders to management about upcoming deadlines, trouble shoots errors, forecast or orders.
  • Tracks all aspects of forecast accuracy from season to season.  Develops reports for sales management and field on accuracy rates with backup on how the calculations were derrived.
  • Develops plans for safety stock, buffers or opportunity buys.  Creates seasonal curves that flow the safety stock in an optimal manner at an appropriate weeks of supply.

What You'll Bring With You:

  • BS degree in business or related field preferred
  • Experience in planning, buying or allocations.
  • Intermediate or better understanding of MS Excel
  • Prior experience with data mining system
  • Prior experience using a demand manager system
