In short, you’ll support the delivery of our supply chain procurement roadmap – on an international scale. Along with managing day to day supplier relationships and contract management, you’ll tackle key contracts and tenders, support strategic sourcing, negotiate pricing and contract terms and make sure processes are implemented.

Whatever the task, you’ll secure targeted savings and apply a commercial approach that supports our wider five-year plan.

 Accountabilities:

  1. Support the delivery of the category procurement strategy in line with corporate policies and procedures to achieve function strategy and best value for money
  2. Manage day to day supplier relationships, liaising with the business and supplier to actively manage the relationship and ensure progress contracts, quotation and other activity
  3. Monitor procurement activity and support aligned business area to ensure that all procurement processes and procedures are implemented
  4. Carry out continuous risk and contract reviews, identifying areas of weaknesses and make recommendations for actions taken to ensure Clarks’ exposure to supply risk is minimised
  5. Complete and maintain contract records to provide visibility of all purchased goods and services
  6. Budgeting and category management
  7. Support the wider team with procurement activity to ensure that the procurement team meets its obligations in respect of company, statutory and regulatory compliance (e.g. sustainable development)

A Bit About You:

  • You’ll have a supply chain category experience, ideally within a retail environment 
  • You’ll be able to lead & coordinate procurement strategy across indirect category teams, engaging with Regional and Functional Directors across Procurement, Finance and Supply Chain 
  • You can effectively collaborate with the procurement team to understand current status and drive continuous improvement 
  • You have the skills to lead strategic sourcing by running and analysing RFPs, making recommendations to stakeholders and achieving quality, price and value 
  • You have the communication skills to negotiate contracts, influence suppliers and manage stakeholders of all levels 
  • A strong Procurement Analytics background with broad knowledge of new technologies 
  • Degree & CIPS/equivalent qualification preferred or equivalent experience

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Studying or recently qualified for CIPS or equivalent procurement experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect procurement
  • Ability to lead and coordinate procurement strategy across indirect category teams, engaging with Regional and Functional Directors across Procurement, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Strong communication skills to negotiate contracts, influence suppliers and manage stakeholders of all levels
  • Good experience of global Procurement processes and full life cycle tenders
  • Good experience of managing supplier relationships and outcomes
  • Good experience of managing internal stakeholders across multiple hierarchies
  • Experience of Category Management processes
  • Ability to produce and present reporting and use technology confidently
  • Good understanding and experience of negotiation and drafting commercial & legal contracts
  • Good influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to use and interpret data to drive best outcome decisions
  • Good understanding of risk management approaches
