Clarks is seeking a Learning & Development Manager who will report to the Director, Talent Management team and work wth the HR Business Partners to assess learning and development needs in the business and collaborate to create solutions. Collaborate on talent management initiatives including; performance conversations, management assessment and development activities. This role is responsible for developing programs and their content, and delivering/facilitating professional development workshops and trainings for Clarks at the Americas headquarters based in Waltham, MA. This role will also work with the e-Learning and Technology Training Specialist to create solutions with a blended learning approach. In this role you will monitor programs and continually review materials, conduct ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and materials and recommend modifications and enhancements as necessary. The Learning and Development Manager will also provide support, content and cross training to our offices in Hanover PA and Canada and Retail field.

Core Accountabilities: 

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to assess current learning and development needs through surveys, manager interviews, and other means.  
  • Manage all professional development workshops and programs. Manage all activities from planning content through delivery of materials and objectives
  • Collaborate with e-Learning and Technology Training Specialist to create programs to address different learning styles using a variety of modalities and publish through Clarks University (LMS)
  • Work with HR Business Partners to create development plans for high potential talent
  • Ensure all learning and development initiatives support strategic objectives and organizational priorities
  • Develop criteria for learning metrics that align with HR and business strategies
  • Professional development programs including ongoing schedule of workshops,and manage Clarks University (LMS)

Essential Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Facilitation and coaching skills
  • Certification in a psychometric development tool; Insights Discovery preferred
  • Clear understanding of global business strategy and direction
  • Knowledge of talent processes; performance management, succession planning, competency building
  • Familiar with HR policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Understand business processes
  • Understand formal and informal ways of working within Clarks

Successful Experience:

  • 3-6 years of experience in learning and development roles
  • Prior experience in a leadership role directly managing others
  • Designing and developing learning programs to address strategic organizational needs
  • Involvement in restructures, re-alignments within a complex organisation
  • Coaching new and future managers
  • Experience developing and maintaining network of contacts with third party vendors and business partners
  • Strategic thinker who is customer centric

  • Strong computer skills including; PowerPoint, Word and e-Learning platforms
