The role

Clarks has an extensive insurance portfolio and suppliers worldwide. Your task is to manage them with the help of your dedicated team. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the globally-placed insurance programme, but also UK-placed local insurance coverage - you’ll be dealing with our global insurance broker and managing tasks that range from checking policy wording to confirming the exact sums insured. Part of your remit will be to manage the annual renewal process for all classes of insurance, that means collating underwriting data from internal contacts, checking quotes and making sure we have all the right documentation. With a team to inspire and senior contacts to influence, you’ll have a well-rounded role. Want to contribute to Clarks’ overall global insurance strategy? You’ll have the chance to do that too.

A bit about you

Right now, you could be working in a similar role, or perhaps as an underwriter or in an insurance business. Whatever your background, you’ll be a skilled insurance practitioner, with a good understanding of a broad portfolio including property, logistics and retail. Ideally you’ll have a relevant qualification, but solid knowledge is more important. You must be able to apply up-to-date technical expertise to everyday issues. On top of this, you’ll need to be articulate and brilliant with people - after all, you’ll be working with brokers, consultants, insurers, senior staff and of course, your team. You therefore need to be influential and driven with a keen eye for detail.

Life with us

Every 60 seconds, 105 pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.6 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 15,000 employees across 75 different countries. In the UK, we’ve been named one of the nation’s Top 25 Employers by Indeed. Despite being the world’s biggest everyday footwear brand (by sale volume), we’re still owned by the Clarks family and based in Street, Somerset – where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.

The benefits

As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy a variety of benefits. These range from 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) to discounted healthcare. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products.
